The global brake specialist introduces its new Dual Cast and Lightweight two-piece brake discs for the aftermarket. The new discs, both exclusive to Brembo, represent another important step in Brembo’s journey to becoming a solution provider and add to the company’s existing ranges of floating, composite and co-cast discs, aiming to offer customers a complete choice of two-piece discs for a wide range of high-end vehicles.
Both new solutions feature the exclusive technical features of the Brembo range of two-piece discs, including the use of a special cast iron manufacturing process, lighter bells, oriented or pin ventilation, as well as holes and/or grooves on the braking surface. The sum of these solutions guarantees optimal braking performance in all conditions . In addition, the new discs allow for more stable and precise vehicle dynamics, improved pedal feel and a lighter braking system, resulting in lower consumption and greater attention to the environment.
Dual Cast Brake Disc for the Aftermarket
The new Brembo Dual Cast brake discs include 16 exclusive products for the sports models of some of the major car manufacturers on the market. The patented design features an aluminum bell coupled with a cast iron braking band. This feature combines the qualities of the two materials: optimal performance of cast iron at high temperatures and the lightness of aluminum. The result is a disc that is up to 30% lighter than an integral disc of the same size , a feature that allows a significant reduction in fuel consumption and vehicle emissions. The Dual Cast design also offers up to 70% more resistance to thermal deformation, ensuring lower residual torque and reducing the possibility of vibration.
Lightweight brake disc for the aftermarket
The Lightweight brake disc is introduced to the market in 17 part numbers (available only within the European Community) for the most exclusive models, including the latest generation Jaguar Land Rover. The solutions engineered by Brembo help reduce the vehicle's unsprung masses , reducing the weight on each wheel side. Furthermore, these discs combine the steel bell with a high carbon cast iron braking band, designed to offer maximum contact between pad and disc, offering more control to the driver. These features make it possible to have a disc that is 15% lighter than an equivalent application , helping to increase fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and improve the vehicle's overall handling.
Brembi brake discs now available for the aftermarket
The two new applications also benefit from Brembo’s extensive experience as a manufacturer of high-quality original equipment braking components. Like all of the company’s exclusive two-piece disc designs, each component in the Dual Cast and Lightweight series is manufactured in the same production facility, on the same assembly line, to the same specifications and subjected to the same rigorous quality controls as Brembo’s original equipment solutions. Brembo Dual Cast and Lightweight discs have been available to the aftermarket since last February , at retailers, workshops or at bremboparts.com.
