The world of electric SUVs has a leading player in 2024: the Audi Q4 e-tron, which confirms its position as the best-selling model in its category for the German automaker. Favored by both private customers and the corporate fleet sector, the Q4 e-tron has received a significant restyling, maintaining its exterior design but improving performance, autonomy and ease of use.
The new version of the SUV, built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, highlights Audi's commitment to electrification, promising an unprecedented driving experience. Test drives along the roads of the Romagna Apennines to Pesaro, the 2024 Capital of Culture, highlighted the significant improvements made to the vehicle.
At the heart of these innovations is the new permanent magnet rear electric motor, which thanks to optimized thermal management offers a 40 percent increase in power and 75 percent more torque, reaching 286 hp in the 45 e-tron version. Acceleration, from 0 to 100 km/h, has improved significantly, dropping to just 6.7 seconds.
A key aspect of the new Q4 e-tron is its 77 kWh battery, which uses an improved cell chemistry to deliver a range of up to 559 km, an improvement of 19 km over the previous model. Charging is further simplified by the Plug and Charge system, which eliminates the need for membership cards or credit cards, automating the payment process.
The Audi Q4 e-tron does not disappoint in terms of connectivity and convenience, offering the Audi Charging service with access to 650,000 charging points in Europe. The Trip Planner also optimizes charging times by pre-heating the battery before refueling.
From a technical point of view, the new model boasts improved handling thanks to more direct steering and a new suspension calibration, which make driving agile and comfortable even on the most challenging routes.
In terms of offering, the Q4 e-tron comes in several versions: the 55 e-tron quattro, with 340 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and the Sportback 45 e-tron, which reaches a range of 559 km. The starting price for the 45 e-tron version is 57,800 euros, but a more accessible variant is also planned, the Q4 35 e-tron, with a price of around 50,000 euros.
With this restyling, the Audi Q4 e-tron reconfirms itself as a point of reference in the electric SUV market, combining performance, autonomy and cutting-edge technologies to offer an exceptional driving experience.
